Truly THE most unusual suite in town, perhaps in the whole state!  A private entrance at the rear of the house (facing the flower gardens and massive trees) leads you into a secluded basement, which dates back to 1885! The thick, original walls give one a country French flavor. The suite includes a sitting area with white antique wicker rocker chairs, an antique painted kitchen table with chairs, antique mahogany lamp table and a deep red Indian rug.

The bedroom also has a comfortable chair, antique wardrobe for clothes and a ladder with interesting antique objects for conversation.  Both rooms have
horizontal windows, adorned with glass antiques and curios.  This retreat is naturally cool in the summer, but also has central AC and heat.  Many who stay here absolutely love this retreat and won't try any other room!  Private bathroom at top of stairs has shower.  Note: Double bed.    $175
